What is Eclipse About?
“Eclipse” is the third film of the Twilight Saga, and this time Bella has to choose between Edward Cullen, her vampire boyfriend, and Jacob Black, her werewolf best friend. When Bella’s friendship with Jacob picks up after Edward leaves her in “New Moon,” he starts to see her in a romantic light. Now that Edward is back, she tries to make it clear to Jacob that she only sees him as a best friend, but the latter refuses to concede, thus causing some tension in their friendship and between Jacob and Edward – besides the natural instinct for vampires and werewolves to be at odds with each other.
While Bella struggles with this love triangle, Forks and surrounding towns start to notice an increase in missing people, and the Cullens seem to figure out that this is Victoria’s doing. In an attempt to avenge her mate, James, who the Cullens kill in “Twilight,” she creates a new army of vampires. The Cullens and the Quileute tribe (the werewolves) then have to put aside their differences to protect not just Bella but also their town from this violent and very hungry mob of newborn vampires. Their joined forces defeat the vampires, including Victoria. They save a girl named Bree Tanner, who seems to be confused and scared about the events happening, but before they could take her in, the Volturi interfere and kill her. In the end, Edward proposes to Bella officially and she says yes, prepping the plot for the rest of the saga.
