What Is Iron Man About?
“Iron Man” follows Tony Stark, a magnetic, industrialist billionaire who owns Stark Industries, a global technology and arms manufacturing company. At the beginning of the film, Stark is introduced as an arrogant engineering genius with a self-indulgent lifestyle. Tony’s devil-may-care outlook on life changes when he gets captured by a group of hostile terrorists from Afghanistan. During his captivity, he is forced to create a missile for the terrorists. Little did they know, Tony had been constructing a powerful armor suit to escape. Tony sees how the terrorists used his weapons against the innocent, realizing the destruction and harm his inventions bring to the world.
After successfully escaping, Tony decides to cease Stark Industries’ weapons production and shift the company’s focus to creating more positive and constructive technologies instead. With the help and support of his trusted assistant Pepper Potts and his friend Rhodey, Tony managed to refine the armor suit he built in captivity. Once the suit is developed to perfection, Tony begins to intervene in global conflicts that threaten to harm the innocent, attempting to redeem himself from his past wrongs. Through his valiant efforts in saving lives, Tony’s alter ego, Iron Man, swiftly becomes a symbol of hope and change.
However, Tony’s business partner, Obadiah Stane, disagrees with his vision and begins to plot his own sinister plans for Stark Industries by developing his own armor suit called the Iron Monger. A climactic battle ensues between Iron Man and the Iron Monger, leading to an epic showdown of technological prowess.
