“Captain America: The First Avenger” follows the story of Steve Rogers, a thin and sickly man who applies for World War II military recruitment but gets rejected due to various health and physical problems. Here, after rigorous training and observation, he is chosen to undergo a treatment where he is injected with a Super Soldier Serum that Erskine developed, turning him into exactly that – a super soldier, someone who is infinitely stronger than the typical human. After the procedure, the once thin and sickly Steve Rogers emerges as a taller, buffer, and more enhanced soldier.
Things don’t stop here as now, Rogers is tasked to be the face of the forces in a way that is similar to a showgirl, performing and acting on stage instead of fighting the war. Unhappy with this, he exceeds expectations and breaks the mold set for him, turning into the hero that the world needs him to be. He battles Red Skull, formerly known as Doctor Johann Schmidt, who has been kidnapping soldiers to inject them with his version of the serum. However, along the way, he loses his best friend and crashes into the Arctic Ocean to save the city from a plane full of bombs. In the end, Rogers wakes up in a suspicious hospital room, only to run outside and realize he has been asleep for the past 70 years.
